On April 18, the New York Police Department announced the arrest of a 24-year-old motorcyclist suspected of causing a fatal accident that resulted in the death of a 45-year-old disc jockey and producer from West New York, New Jersey. The police made the arrest after the suspect went through a grand jury indictment. The New York City Police Departments' Bureau of Criminal Investigation worked with other police departments for a number of months on the investigation. Following the indictment, the police arrested the suspect and released him on a $20,000 bond.
Authorities said a fatal April 8 car crash in New York may have been caused by a man under the influence of drugs. The accident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. in Camillus. According to police, a 22-year-old man was traveling south on Kasson Road in a 2008 BMW X3 when he drifted into westbound traffic and collided head-on with a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The driver of the Toyota, a 79-year-old Syracuse man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Officers with the New York State Police at Wurtsboro reported that a wrong-way driver died in a crash on Dec. 28. Reportedly, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of State Route 17 in the town of Mamakating. Officers apparently received more than one call from motorists about the wrong-way driver prior to the crash's occurrence. Upon responding to the area, officers came upon the collision.

Two men suffered major injuries in a car accident in New York on Nov. 18. The two-vehicle crash occurred just after 5:20 p.m. on State Route 66 in Chatham.
A New York accident turned fatal for one 26-year-old Lindenhurst driver. The man was killed in a two-vehicle collision when his 2013 Honda Civic struck a 2013 Ford Fusion head on. According to a statement from police, the Civic entered her lane at about 7 p.m., resulting in the fatal crash.

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a car in Madison County on Sept. 26. The motorcyclist, who had been wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was thrown about 30 feet away from the bike as a result of the impact.
