Two individuals were recently injured in a car collision in New York. One individual’s dog was also injured in the crash. These types of collisions sometimes happen as a result of a driver’s negligence, which is grounds for litigation.

How the car accident occurred

The recent New York car wreck took place at about 4:30 p.m. on a Thursday. According to authorities, two cars crashed into each other at an intersection. First responders reportedly had to extricate an individual as well as a dog from one of the cars. However, the individual in the second car was removed from the car with no issues through the car’s front door.

One person was transported to a medical center by helicopter due to suffering severe injuries in the crash. Meanwhile, the other party was transported to a medical center by ambulance. The dog that was extricated from the first car also suffered injuries and was therefore taken to an animal hospital, where its condition was deemed stable.

Potential legal recourse following the accident

If the New York police determine that one of the car drivers caused the crash due to negligent driving, then the injured party or parties who did not cause the crash may have the right to file personal injury claims against this individual, seeking damages. A judge will adjudicate their claims only if they can establish liability in civil court. In this situation, they could ultimately receive monetary damages to cover their hospital bills and other losses associated with the unfortunate car collision.
