Three women have sadly lost their lives in an alleged drunk driving crash in New York. In addition, three other people have suffered injuries in the crash, which occurred on a recent Saturday night. A man has been arrested on drunk driving charges in connection with the tragic motor vehicle accident.

Events leading up to the accident

The unfortunate accident took place at a little past 11 p.m. According to authorities, a car was driving along the Jericho Turnpike when another car crashed into it. Three women were riding in the first car’s backseat and were pronounced deceased at the accident scene.

Meanwhile, the car’s driver and two other people who were riding in the car suffered injuries and were transported to a medical center. The 22-year-old driver of the second car allegedly caused the crash due to driving under the influence. This driver, who was also taken to the hospital with injuries, now faces impaired driving and vehicular manslaughter charges.

Seeking help and support in the aftermath of these tragedies

The surviving family members of the three women who died in the tragic wreck may decide to file wrongful death claims against the driver believed to have caused their deaths. Likewise, the injured accident victims might file personal injury claims against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. If the driver ends up being convicted on his criminal charges, proof of this may be presented in civil court with the goal of establishing liability for the fatal crash. If the claims are litigated successfully, the plaintiffs might be awarded damages to cover accident-related losses, such as funeral costs and hospital expenses.
