Two individuals have sadly been injured in a motorcycle collision in New York. The crash took place on a recent Monday along State Route 86. Sometimes these types of collisions happen as a result of careless driving, in which case the reportedly at-fault driver may be held liable for any injuries resulting from the wreck.
How the crash occurred
The unfortunate motorcycle accident occurred at about 12:44 p.m. According to authorities, an 82-year-old woman was driving a sport utility vehicle on the highway. According to reports, she allegedly neglected to yield to a motorcycle.
Police stated that the motorcycle ended up striking the sport utility vehicle’s side. Both the motorcycle’s driver and its passenger were ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the impact. These two parties suffered injuries in the crash and were therefore transported to a medical center for treatment.
Legal recourse may be available following the collision
The two injured accident victims may opt to file personal injury claims against the sport utility vehicle driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. If they are able to establish liability in civil court in New York, based upon a showing of negligence, a judge will determine their claims for damages. Monetary damages from a successfully litigated claim might help them to cover their hospital costs as well as any loss of wages they suffered as a result of the collision. No amount of money can undo the events that led up to the crash, but financial damages may help the victims to more easily move forward from the ordeal.
