Three people were killed in a recent Brooklyn accident. A fourth individual suffered injuries in the crash. The accident occurred during the morning hours on a Sunday.

Events leading up to the motor vehicle crash

The accident apparently happened at 7:46 a.m. According to police, a car was traveling on Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn, close to the Belt Parkway. While an early report of the New York tragedy did not provide any details as to what went wrong, it was reported that the car hit a tree and burst into flames.

Police reported that three occupants of the car were killed in the crash. The passenger who survived was rushed to the hospital. Authorities said his condition is now deemed stable. Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

How an attorney can help

It’s likely that the gathered evidence will indicate the driver was negligent in a manner that caused the wreck. If the evidence supports this conclusion, the surviving family members of the deceased passengers may opt to file wrongful death claims against the estate of the deceased driver as well as any separate owner of the vehicle involved. The injured passenger also likely has grounds to file a personal injury claim. Successfully presented claims in a New York court may result in a monetary judgment for documented damage claims. These could include funeral and burial expenses, lost income and a range of other damages. No amount of money can undo the events that caused the crash, but financial relief may help the affected parties as they struggle to move forward from the tragedy.
