A man recently lost his life in a New York car accident. Two other individuals suffered injuries in the crash. These types of collisions are often the result of a driver’s negligence, in which case the careless driver may face full financial responsibility for any injuries or deaths resulting from the crash.
How the crash took place
The accident occurred along Route 3 at around 12 p.m. on a recent Saturday. Police said a 37-year-old man was driving his car west along the state highway when he suddenly hit another car. The man was killed due to the collision.
A 33-year-old man was driving the second car involved in the tragic crash. He broke his leg in the crash and was transported to a medical center for the treatment of his injuries. A passenger in the car he was driving suffered head injuries in the accident. A baby who was riding in the car as well managed to avoid any injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
Legal recourse is possible following these incidents
If the evidence suggests that the deceased driver caused the tragic motor vehicle accident due to careless driving, the two individuals who were injured in the crash may choose to file personal injury claims, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. The claims could be filed against the deceased motorist’s estate as well as against any other individual with an ownership interest in the car he was operating when the crash took place. Liability must be established based upon a showing of negligence before a judge will decide their damage claims. If the injured parties are successful, they could receive damages to cover their medical bills and other expenses tied to the crash.
