Legal recourse available following the accident
The surviving loved ones of the two children who died in the New York car accident may choose to file wrongful death claims against the man who apparently caused the accident. The man may also face personal injury claims filed on behalf of the three injured passengers and the other driver. If the plaintiffs are successful, they may be awarded monetary damages to cover losses related to the accident, such as burial costs and medical expenses. No amount of money can undo the events that led to the accident, but monetary damages may help the affected parties move forward from the tragedy.
