A woman died in a car crash in New York when her car struck another motor vehicle. The accident occurred in the late afternoon on a recent Wednesday. Three automobiles were involved in the wreck, which took place along State Route 28.

How the motor vehicle crash occurred

The recent New York motor vehicle crash happened at about 4:16 p.m. According to police, a 90-year-old woman was driving a car north on the highway and slowed down to turn into her driveway. All of a sudden, a second car that another woman, aged 40, was driving reportedly rear-ended the elderly woman’s car, pushing it into oncoming traffic.

Authorities said the second car then crashed into a third car that a 36-year-old woman was driving. First responders rushed the elderly woman to a medical center, after which she was transported to another hospital. Sadly, passed away the following day. The two other driver’s conditions were not immediately known.

How an attorney may help

New York police may discover through their accident investigation that the second car’s driver caused the accident due to failing to slow down for road conditions. In this situation, the surviving family members of the woman who died in the accident may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the second car’s driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained as a result of the crash. If they are successful in their suit, they may receive damages to cover funeral expenses and other documented financial losses.
